Belle Glade Tree Giveaway
Belle Glade Free Tree Giveaway
Sat, Nov. 9th | Starts at 10am
Glades Pioneer Park
Thanks to an Environmental Justice Grant from the EPA, Community Greening has teamed up with the PBC Office of Resilience to hold multiple Free Tree Giveaways in the Glades region over the next few years!
Our first Free Tree Giveaway will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9th at 10am at Glades Pioneer Park in Belle Glade!
Glades community members can come out to Glades Pioneer Park and take home two FREE trees to plant in their yard!
There will be options of both Florida native shade trees and fruit species. Trees will be passed out on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of TWO trees per household (1 fruit tree max).
Species Options:
Native Trees: marlberry, paradise tree
Fruit Trees: avocado (super haas), mango (maha chanook & cari)
Must be a Glades community resident to receive a tree (includes cities such as Belle Glade, Canal Point, Lake Harbor, Pahokee, South Bay – only PBC Glades members)
All trees come in 3-gallon containers, and come with planting guides and species information. Trees need to be planted in the ground (they will not thrive in a pot/planter). Species and times subject to change.
The EPA Environmental Justice Grant aims to increase tree canopy throughout Belle Glade, Pahokee, and South Bay by hosting three Free Tree Giveaways and three Tree Planting events each year in the area year for the next three years.
