Tree Planting Events

Community Greening Tree Plantings add vital tree canopy to the areas that need it most. With the help of local volunteers, we’ve planted thousands of native trees at public parks, schools, and along roadways across South Florida.

Community Greening handles all the logistical planning and supplies. We also have our staff on hand to demonstrate proper planting techniques and guide/assist volunteers as needed. All CG Tree Plantings even have a DJ on-site to keep things fun!

We Keep It Fun!

Community Greening Tree Plantings are a ton of FUN! We love planting trees, but it’s even more fun when you’ve got some good beats to plant to, which is why every CG Tree Planting has an on-site DJ (shoutout to DJ SoNyce and DJ DadyPhats)!

Come with family & friends, or sign-up solo, you’re bound to meet some great people looking to improve their community!

Everyone is Welcome!

All of our events are family-friendly, and we welcome volunteers of all ages – children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

No experience is necessary. We’ll have our trained Tree Technicians (including ISA Certified Arborists) on hand to give demonstrations and help guide you. If you’re willing to get your hands dirty, we’d love to have you help out!

What Do We Plant?

Planting plans account for future development, utilities, a site’s sun/shade/drainage capabilities, and biodiversity needs to ensure the right tree is planted in the right place.

Community Greening’s mission is to increase the tree canopy, and as such we primarily plant Florida natives, which thrive best and provide the most benefits in our climate. Our top planted species include gumbo limbo, live oak, paradisetree, South Florida slash pine, and stoppers. CG also plants fruit trees at our Urban Orchards.

Ensuring Our Trees Thrive

Community Greening Tree Technicians water, stake, prune, and mulch every tree on a regular schedule for an entire year following a tree planting event.

The first year of maintenance is vital to getting the tree established and providing it with the proper foundation to thrive and grow.
