Volunteers Must Sign-up Online in Advance!
We’ll be holding a few early morning volunteer events at the Tree Nursery to help beat the summer heat! Summer events will start at 8:30am and conclude by 10am.
The Community Greening Tree Nursery is home to thousands of trees being grown for future tree giveaways and plantings.
CG Arborists and our trained Tree Technicians will be on hand to lead the group, and guide/assist volunteers in a variety of activities such as sowing seeds, transplanting saplings, and weeding/watering/staking young trees!
No experience needed. All skill levels and physical capabilities welcomed (many activities can be completed while sitting). We encourage anyone to join us who is interested in getting their hands a little dirty, while helping a great cause.
We’ll have any needed tools, as well as work gloves to borrow and water on-site (though feel free to bring your own). We’ll also have cold water and snacks.
Please wear closed-toed shoes, and clothing that can get a little dirty. We also encourage you to wear a hat and sunscreen.
Families are welcome, all minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
The Community Greening Nursery is located on the grounds of the HabCenter (22313 Boca Rio Road). Upon arrival you will proceed through the entry gates of the HabCenter and around the back of the building to the parking lot. The CG Nursery is located in the NW corner – there will be signage on-site to help guide you. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY ON THE HabCenter GROUNDS & CARPOOL IF POSSIBLE!
Event will be cancelled in the event of a forecasted Extreme Heat Index or heavy rains. An email will be sent to all volunteers as soon as possible in the event of these circumstances.
